  1. Hi: I am a friend of Jim Klippert’s. He recommended your blog. As a fan of trad jazz, I am eager to learn about your first hand experiences on the subject. I was fortunate to hear the Humphrey brothers at Preservation Hall in the early 80’s. I was lucky to be in the front row right in front of Louis Nelson. His playing was pure, simple and effective. My eyes welled with tears and he gave me a look that said “It’s ok, I understand. Thanks for appreciating my music.”

  3. Hi – If Edward W. Carter of Broadway Hale was your father, I dated your (step) sister at Occidental in 1965. Do you know if I can get in touch with her? Please feel free to share my email with her. Thanks
